Abstract


THE EFFECT OF WORK ALIENATION TO JOB PERFORMANCE IN MARINA AND YACHT BUSINESS EMPLOYEES

Workers wanting to move away from their work physically or to cool down psychologically is considered to be an indicator of alienation in work. Negative organizational attitudes can lead to significant organizational consequences, such as alienation from work, employee quitting or job dissatisfaction. Therefore, determining the levels of alienation of employees and correcting the conditions causing them are important for the management of the organization. The main objective of this study is to measure the levels of alienation of employees in the yacht and marina businesses and to examine their impact on job performance. In addition, it was aimed to determine whether there are differences in the levels of alienation of the employees according to the fields they work. For these purposes, data was collected from the marina and yacht enterprises 249 employee in the maritime business sector by face to face survey method and analyzed with the help of SPSS and AMOS 21 package programs. The findings of the analysis showed that the level of alienation of the employees had a negative effect on job performance, and the difference in the levels of alienation of the employees according to their work fields was not significant statistically. The results show that as the levels of alienation of employees increase, their work performance will decrease.
