Abstract


THE ROLE AND EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION ON LIFE SATISFACTION

The general objective of this study is; organizational communication has no effect on the lifestyle satisfaction of the employees. The sub-objectives of the study are to reveal the followings:

-To reveal whether there is a relationship between organizational communication and life satisfaction,

-To determine whether organizational communication affects life satisfaction.

In the study, an interactive model was figured since it is intended to determine whether organizational communication activities and its sub-dimensions have effect on perception of life satisfaction and its sub-dimensions. The correlation between the two variables was investigated by regression analysis.

The main population of the research consists of 1,739 employees working in the banking sector in Eskişehir. The sample mass is composed of 307 personnel working in the banking sector in Eskişehir. In order to obtain data within the scope of the research, 9-item "Organizations Communications"scale, which was developed by Gürgen (1997) and the 5-item " Life Satisfaction" scale which was developed by Diener, Emmans, Larsen ve Griffin (1983) and adapted to Turkish by Kökler (1991) were used. SPSS SPSS 22.0 program was used for statistical analysis of data.

Results: According to the findings, there was a statistically significant relationship between organizational communication and life satisfaction (r =, 580, p <0.00). In addition, it was concluded that organizational communication may have a positive effect on life satisfaction at a rate of 62.4% [(ß =, 624), (p <0.05)] (R2:, 336; ß:, 624; p: 000).

According to the data obtained, it is possible to say that if the quality of organizational communication increases, life satisfaction levels of employees may increase. Discussion and Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the effects of organizational communication on life satisfaction should be taken into consideration, since the improvements in organizational communication will positively affect the life satisfaction levels of the employees, this interaction can have positive effects on the productivity and efficiency levels of the employees.
