Perception management is a conceptualized method in the 20th century, although it has been used consistently at every stage of human history. Initially conceptualized by the US Department of Defense, this method is increasing its popularity in the 21st century, which is called the technology age and information society. The quick and easy access of people to information leads to information pollution in the same place, which makes the perceptions that many factors are affecting open to external interventions. As a result, perceptions can be easily guided, mass movements can be brought to the scene, and social events can be handled easily. In this context, perception management, which is becoming more and more important day by day, attracts the attention of institutions, organizations, such as individuals, states, companies and civil society. In this study; The conceptual and historical background of perception management has been given after the definition of perception concept and the factors affecting perception process and perception have been discussed.
