Abstract
Tüm dünyaya yayılan Covid-19, Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) tarafından pandemi olarak kabul edilmiştir. Covid-19 pandemisi, tüm dünyada milyonlarca insanın enfekte olmasına ve çok sayıda kişinin yaşamını kaybetmesine neden olmuştur. Özellikle yaşlılar, COVİD- 19 virüsü sebebiyle hayatını kaybetme riski yüksek olan kırılgan bir gruptur. Bu çalışmada Covid-19 salgınının ortaya çıkması sonucu maruz kaldığımız pandemi günlerinde toplumun dezavantajlı gruplarından olan yaşlılar açısından durumun çok yönlü değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkiye'de ve Dünya'daki yaşlı nüfusun durumu, Covid-19'un yaşlılar üzerinde etkisi ve yaşlılara yönelik öneriler ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, Covid-19 virüsünden olumsuz etkilenen yaşlı bireylere yönelik önlemlerin daha detaylı incelenerek salgının sosyal ve psikolojik etkilerinin de ele alınmasının gerekliliği vurgulanmıştır. Yaşlılar her açıdan değerli olmakla birlikte yalnızca fizyolojik açıdan korunmaları yeterli görülmemektedir. Pandemi süresince sosyal ve psikolojik açıdan destekleyici uygulamaların da planlanması ve hayata geçirilmesi önem arz etmektedir.

Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) has accepted Covid-19 which has spread around the world, to be a pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused millions of people worlwide to get infected and many people to die. Especially the elderly are a fragile group with a higher risk of dying due to the COVID-19 virus. This study aimed to evaluate the Covid-19 pandemic on the elderly, who are among the disadvantageous groups in society, in a multi-directional way. In line with that purpose the study approached the condition of the elderly population in Turkey and in the world, impact of the Covid-19 on the elderly and recommendations for the elderly, in detail. As a result, the study stressed the necessity of examining the measures aimed at the elderly individuals who are affected by the Covid-19 virus negatively, in detail and approaching the social and psychological impacts of the pandemic as well. The elderly are valuable in every respect and it is not adequate to protect them only physiologically. It is also important that socially and psychologically supportive applications be planned and put into practice throughout the pandemic process.
