Abstract

Osmanlı’nın dağılma dönemlerinde ülkeyi kurtarmak için birçok ideoloji ortaya atılmıştır. İdeolojiler arasında ilk ortaya çıkan ve demokratik kavramların imparatorluğa girmesinde katkı sağlayan ideoloji Osmanlıcılıktır. İdeolojiyi anlayabilmek için geçirdiği süreçleri, gelişmesini sağlayan isimleri, ideolojiyi etkileyen ve ideolojinin etkilendiği belgeleri incelemek gerekir. Osmanlıcılık fikir akımının ele alınması, Osmanlı’da ve sonrasında kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nde demokrasi kavramının gelişimini gözlemlemek için de önemlidir.

Abstract

During the disintegration period of the Ottoman Empire, many ideologies were put forward to save the country. The ideology that emerged first and contributed to the entry of democratic concepts into the empire was Ottomanism. In order to understand ideology, it is necessary to examine the processes it went through, the names that contributed to its development and the documents that affect the ideology and are affected by the ideology. Dealing with the idea of Ottomanism is also important for observing the development of the concept of democracy in the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey established after it.
