Abstract
Günümüzde bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri sürekli gelişerek ürün ve hizmetlerin de değişmesini ve geliştirilmesini zorunlu kılmış ve rekabetin itici güçlerinden birisi haline gelmiştir. Dolayısıyla bu rekabet ortamında ayakta kalmak ve güçlerini artırmak isteyen işletmeler için Ar-Ge kavramı daha stratejik bir hale gelmiş ve işletmeleri, devletleri Ar-Ge yatırımları ve çalışmalarını artırmaya yöneltmiştir.
Söz konusu çalışma, öncelikle bilgi toplumu ve teknoloji arasındaki ilişkiye kavramsal çerçevede vurgu yaparak Türkiye’de ki Ar-Ge harcamaları hakkında genel bilgileri içermektedir. Çalışmanın araştırma bölümünde Türkiye’de Ar-Ge yatırımlarını analiz etmek amacıyla teknoloji sektöründe faaliyet gösteren işletmelerdeki Ar-Ge faaliyetlerinin, bu işletmelere göre payları ve kârlılıkları üzerindeki etkilerinin istatistiksel yöntemlerle analiz edilerek elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda 2012-2016 yılları arasında Borsa İstanbul’da teknoloji sektöründe işlem gören 16 işletmenin 5 yıllık finansal performans verileri analiz edilmiştir.
Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, teknoloji sektöründe faaliyet gösteren işletmelerin 2012-2016 yılları arasında Ar-Ge harcamalarının sürekli artış eğiliminde olduğu; Ar-Ge harcamaları ile esas faaliyet kârı/zararı, vergi öncesi kâr/zarar ve dönem kârı/zararı arasında pozitif yönlü güçlü ilişki olduğu ve Ar-Ge harcamalarındaki artış veya azalışın kâr/zarar üzerinde etkili olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract
At the present time, the effects of competition are felt intensely in every field and sector. Especially the constant change of information and communication technologies are obligatory within change and development of products and services and this is become one of the driving forces of competition. Therefore, the R&D concept is becoming more strategic state that want to survive and increase their power for businesses in the competitive environment and R&D investments and works are increasing day by day.
The subject of study, firstly it has been contains general information about R&D expenditure in Turkey emphasize relationship between information society and technology in the conceptual framework. In the part of research, the findings obtained are evaluated to by analysis with statistic methods the effects on the shares and profitability according to businesses and R&D activities of operating technology sector in the businesses for the purpose of to analyze the R&D investments at the Turkey. In this direction, it is analyzed of the 5 year financial performance data of the 16 companies between 2012-2016 in that are traded in the technology sector in Stock Exchange Istanbul.
According to the results obtained, it has been reached results the R&D expenditures tend to increase continuously between 2012 and 2016 of active businesses in the technology sector; there is a strong positive relationship between R&D expenditures and operating profit / loss, pre-tax profit / loss and period profit / loss and increase or decrease in R&D expenditures has an effect on profit / loss.
