Abstract

Abstract

While university education constitutes the last regular education doors of individuals before work life, the stress of new life creates various fears and anxieties among young people. However, the Covid-19 pandemic, which came into our life in 2019, has affected the adaptation and social lives of youth. Ongoing uncertainty, constantly emerging mutations and the losses experienced around us increase the fear and anxiety of Covid-19. This study was applied to 292 students studying at various universities in our country in the 2021-2022 academic year, using the online e-survey method and data were obtained according to the convenience sampling method. In the study examining the relationships between the Covid-19 fear scale and coronavirus anxiety scale and demographic variables, has been observed that the epidemic affects female students more than male students. In addition, the fear and anxiety levels of those who lost their relatives due to coronavirus were found to be higher than those who did not. Research results reveal that fear of Covid-19 is caused by coronavirus anxiety. As fear increases, the rate of anxiety also increases.
