Abstract

Abstract

Internet addiction has negative effects on life by causing psychological disorders and social problems. Internet addiction has emerged due to developing technology these days. Internet has entered our lives as a result of developments in communication technologies. Internet is a useful mass communication tool that enables people to access all kinds of needed information and, also allows people to have a pleasant time and communicate with their distant loved ones. However, in addition to the ease and benefits of the Internet, it also brings in many negatives due to uncontrolled and excessive use problems. Although this type of dependence is seen in people of all sexes and ages, the effect is much more significant on young people and children. In this field study, internet addiction and its reflections on life were investigated through a survey. The survey was taken by 97 people from young to middle age groups of people who were the Internet users in Artvin. In this survey, which was formed on the basis of voluntary participation, 7 questionnaires were excluded from the study due to not being completely correctly. In other words, the total number of surveys in which the data is analyzed is 90. In this study, Internet addiction levels of students, civilians and public officials with different age groups were examined while the effects of this situation on individuals were also evaluated.
