Abstract
Turizm, dünyanın en kazançlı endüstrilerinden biridir. Bir ülkede turizmin gelişmesi için iç bölgelerin ve çeşitli turizm bölgelerinin modern zamanların gereksinimlerini karşılaması önemlidir. Makale, kentsel turizme temel teorik yaklaşımları sunuyor, "şehir turizmi" ve "şehir turizminin çekicilik unsurları" gibi tanımlarını, dünya turizm merkezlerini gezginler tarafından ziyaret etmek için ana nedenlerini, sürdürülebilir turizm yaklaşımını analiz ediyor.Çalışma boyunca günümüze kadar süren araştırmalar işığında elde edilen bulgular, Şeki destinasyonunun Azerbaycan turizmindeki yeri, gelişme yönleri, potansiyeli ve Şeki'de turizmin gelişmesini teşvik edecek araştırmalar incelenmiştir.
Çalışmanın temel amacı; Şeki destinasyonunda turizmin gelişimi ile ilgili mevcut sorunların ana yönlerini analiz ederek, bölgede sürdürülebilir turizmin gelecekteki gelişimini sağlayacak öneriler geliştirmesinde ve bu değerli tarihi mekanın tanıtımına küçücük de olsa bir katkıda bulunmaktır

Abstract
Tourism is one of the most profitable industries in the world. For the development of tourism in a country, it is important that the interior regions and various tourism regions meet the requirements of modern times. The article presents the basic theoretical approaches to urban tourism, analyzes the definitions such as "urban tourism" and "attractive elements of urban tourism", the main reasons for visiting world tourism centers by travelers, the sustainable tourism approach. During the study, the findings obtained in the light of the researches carried out until today, the place of Shaki destination in Azerbaijan tourism, its development aspects, potential and researches that will encourage the development of tourism in Shaki have been examined.
The main purpose of the study; It is to contribute, albeit small, to the development of proposals for the future development of sustainable tourism in the region, by analyzing the main aspects of the current problems related to the development of tourism in the destination of Shaki, and to the promotion of this valuable historical place.
